Ferrall’s Digging the World Cup and His ABC Commercials!!
I ran into Jim Brewer on Friday evening when I came in to do the show and I just told him how platinum he was on Stern this week. That was just the funniest interview. I listened to it again on a replay Saturday morning and dude that dude is just fucking hilarious. That’s all there is to it. I was fortunate enough to be able to introduce him to the legendary TR, my dad, who’s in town for the weekend chilling with the grandchildren and me and 34C and we just had the greatest night. We were raging in there, Lou was on fire doing this TR impression and it just was a great night. We got to bang out a couple meals. I took him for the, the hot stove pizza, like the, you know, grilled pizza in the oven, the brick oven, and then we had Hurley’s. Of course watched all the World Cup at Hurley’s. U.S. versus England was a great game yesterday. Did you see the Ferrall promos running for Wipe Out and Downfall on It was also on Friday Night on the World Cup premier concert with Shakira and the Black Peas. There’s probably only about 40 million people watching that. I’m digging the World Cup and I like watching it. Like I said, it reminds me of hockey just not as fast. It’s you know, guys running instead of skating but it’s still physical. There’s tripping, there’s hooking, there’s punching, there’s yellow cards, red cards and rowdy fans. I mean the World Cup soccer fans, football fans, whatever you want to call them, they’re the rowdiest in the world. I mean it just doesn’t get any rowdier than watching them blow their horns for the entire match on the pitch. It’s just crazy. They sing songs, they’re setting off all kinds of crazy chants and I remember when I went to the Athens Olympics they were setting off smoke bombs. There’s nothing like it. They just rock and roll. It’s craziness. So I’m going to try watching the games every day.
Interleague plays been going on all weekend long in baseball. I like interleague play and I don’t care what anybody says. Watching the Yankees play the Orioles 16 times a year doesn’t cut it for me and it’s the same thing with the Jays. I know the Jays have been tough, I know they’ve been playing good, getting good pitching and I just can’t watch the same teams. Tampa Bay even, I mean, it’s great, they’re the best team in baseball, best record, fair enough, but in the end will they be the last team standing and win the world championship, I don’t know. But I don’t want to watch them play 16 times. I’d rather watch interleague play, great games, rivalries are not the subject matter here. It’s about seeing teams you’ve never seen before, seeing players you’ve never seen before, teams that never come to your town ever. All of sudden you’re playing them. I like the set up the way it is, all these haters they never stop bitching. You know what they should do is just play games with everybody year round. I don’t have a problem with that. Like you know, if you’re going to play in the National League, play against every team a set number of times, not just your divisional teams. I get sick of it. I know this year during Games 4 and 5, there is not going to be an off day in the playoffs. Thank God they squared that up. But I know MLB TV’s going to be showing interleague play from now until literally June 26. So that’s going to be good.
NBA finals tonight, Game 5, Lakers – Celtics still in Boston. Game 6 and 7 are in L.A. and don’t forget tonight in prime time, they’ll run the Wipe Out and Downfall promo commercial that I’m doing for ABC TV on that game as well. I love it. I’m on the World Cup, I’m on the NBA finals. I’m digging that gig, and I’m having a lot of fun doing it with ABC. They’re treating me good. It’s fun doing the work in studio with them. I love getting that kind of massive exposure for our show on Howard 101 which you hear every night on Sirius XM the best radio on radio.
