Ferrall’s Ready for a World Series Rematch and the NBA Finals!!

It doesn’t get any better than tonight!  The Phillies and Yankees have a rematch of the World Series tonight in The Bronx.  How does this one sound for you?  You get Roy Halladay against CC Sabathia, the two best pitchers on arguably the two best teams in baseball, facing off against each other tonight.  The Phillies haven’t hit in a month but they’re still one of the deepest, most-talented teams in baseball and they hook up with the Yankees just like they did last October in the World Series, and we all know what happened there.  That’s right, the Yankees won their 27th World Championship.

Also, obviously Game 6 of the NBA finals is being played out in L.A.  This time the Staples Center is the site.  The Lakers, if they win, can force to Game 7 on their home floor, but if they lose the Celtics are champions in the NBA once again.  I’ll tell you one thing, the Lakers better play some fucking defense and somebody other than Kobe Bryant has to be able to shoot the ball and score some buckets.  Sasha and Gasol have to step up and Artest had better start defending Pierce and using those six fouls or that series is going to be over!  The Celtics have certainly played better than the Lakers in the series up to this point, especially when dominating Games 4 and 5.  The Lakers won Game 3 in Boston but now they have to win both games at home, but all they can worry about is one at a time.  So tonight Game 6 is going to be huge and you know they’re going to be rocking in Lipstick City on the Lakers home floor.  It should to be a wild game  and we’ll be all over it when it starts at 9:00 East.

One of the big topics of conversation on the show last night and it’s certainly is going to be in the news a lot this summer is the drama between Darrell Revis and the Jets.  He’s the best cornerback in the NFL and maybe the best defensive football player in the NFL and he wants somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 to $18 million a year to play for the Jets.  Yesterday at their mini-camp he embarrassed the team and their head coach, Rex Ryan, when he took himself out of mini-camp saying he had felt lightheaded and his hamstring hurt but neither of those injuries was true.  He was faking those injuries and just playing games and making a statement to the front office when all he wanted to talk about was how much money they owe him and how he deserves all the money in the world.  He is basically playing games and he embarrassed his coaches, embarrassed the organization and he told the media that he wants money and he’s going to get it.  I think the Jets are going to lose this negotiation in the end and they’re going to have to give him his money because he is the best player in the league defensively and he’s already set the standard in that last season when he was undeniably the most dominant player in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball.  So what if the guy wants his money.  He’s going to get it in the end and the Jets are just playing games.  Now, they said they’ll give him in the neighborhood of somewhere of $10 million which is a complete joke, he’s going to make as lot more than that.  This whole thing is a giant game!  Don’t forget HBO’s “Hard Knocks” is going to be filming their training camp at the end of the month and it’s going to be quite a story if it is still going on.  Until then, it’s just going to be back and forth ugliness and fire for the tabloids even though like I said, in the end, Revis is going to get his money.  We had Tim Graham of ESPN.com on from Jets training camp last night on the show.  It was a great conversation about the Revis situation and then we were talking about who’s the better quarterback, Mark Sanchez or Chad Henne.

I love that the football big shot Texas is staying in the Big 12.  That’s the word that came down on Monday in terms of college football talk.
