It’s the Most Boring Week in Sports!!
We have to make it through this week which I think it’s the worst week of the year, every year, when it’s the mid-summer classic, the All-Star Break, or should I say hell week for sports. There are no other games on the schedule, so there’s nothing else to bet on or watch. Christ, I was watching NBA summer league games last night in the studio. It’s torture this time of year to do a show when the world of sports is deader than a doornail. I mean, thank God tonight we’ve got the All-Star game in Anaheim. I love Angels Stadium where the weather’s always kicking, but last night they had the Homerun Derby, Big Papi won it, but no thanks. Then they showed the celebrity softball game but I don’t want to watch fat, old, retired players and celebrities play in a softball game, I think it’s torture. Honestly, what could be worse? Like I want to watch those people running around at one mile an hour or Ricky Henderson still acting cocky while he hits a couple homeruns and nobody gives a shit.
Tonight you’ve got Price starting for the AL and Jimenez for the National League, the game starts at 8PM East (5PM West) and we’re live at 8PM East (5PM West), so that should be cool. I think the best thing going on this week is clearly the British Open at St. Andrews. I can’t wait for that to start on Thursday. Of course there’s no games Wednesday except one MLS game, but who watches that?!? It’s just a bad week for sports and that’s coming off the World Cup, which was awesome.
I thought the final game between Spain and the Netherlands was a drag with a lot of divers and dirty play and millions of yellow cards. I just thought it was a real let-down after a great World Cup but, of course, Spain won it 1-0. They got the late goal and it’s the first time they’ve ever won the World Cup.
Somehow tonight we’ll try to get through the All-Star game and then wait for Thursday when we have the start of the British Open. Saturday I’m going to the Dave Matthews show at Citi Field, don’t ask me why. It’s a gift for 34C. The key to the evening will be Lugo Café, right next to the Garden on 33rd and 8th run by my boy, Sam Hazen. It’s the best restaurant in Manhattan, I love that place, and we’re going to gorge on food. It should be a good time.
I’ll see you tonight, 8PM Eastern (5PM West) on Sirius XM’s Howard 101. Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook at facebook.com/ScottFerrall79. Hit up this is FerrallRadio.com and don’t forget ChurchofFerrall.com. If you want to lose weight you have to get on The Lean from Bill Romanowski. Just click the Nutrition 53 banner on the site and get Romo’s Lean and the Multi-One Vitamins. It’s all-purpose, kick ass stuff, I use both and they work, believe me! If you need a suit, go to Joseph’s Custom Clothier and ask for Joey Wendt. If you’ve got back pain, neck pain, spine pain, any kind of pain, go to The Spine & Health Center of Montvale, New Jersey, and check out Dr. Pete or Dr. Kelly and they’ll set you straight. Have a good day. Shake it up!!
