Lakers Ran The Celtics Off The Court in Game 6!!
Lakers dominated Game 6 last night at the Staples Center and blew out the Celtics. What happens now? Game 7 is Thursday night at Staples in Lipstick City for all the marbles. Who’s going to get it done? Who’s going to lift the trophy? Who’s going to go home a loser? Boston had dominated Games 4 and 5 in Bean Town at the Garden and you wondered what they would do last night at Staples. Well, they did nothing and were down 20 at the half. The difference in the game was L.A.’s bench. Odom finally came to play for a change after he’s done nothing in the finals but chipped in 10 rebounds and 8 points last night. The L.A. bench had 25points and had 13 rebounds and they completely outscored Boston’s bench. The Celtics’ bench had dominated Games 4 and 5 back in Boston but last night they did absolutely nothing all night. The Lakers were flying after loose balls putting down alley-oop dunks, running on fast breaks, hitting their shots and dominating the glass. Gasol was huge. Everybody on the Lakers just played like they were desperate, like they had to win and there was nothing that was going to stop them from winning, and nothing did stop them. They owned them all night. The game wasn’t even close, and it really is what’s best for the series, that it comes down to one deciding game and that’s what we’re going to have Thursday night. You couldn’t ask for anything more than that, and it was really Kobe Bryant just running up and down the floor, making plays happen and doling baskets out. Shannon Brown looked good off the bench as well and Farmar had a huge dunk right in Kevin Garnett’s face. Ray Allen had the only decent game for Boston, but I guess we’ll find out who wants it more on Thursday night. It should be good!
Thursday will be a huge day because you’ve also got the U.S. Open starting at Pebble Beach, an awesome field, playing an awesome golf course. If you remember, ten years ago Tiger Woods won the tournament by 15 strokes, but he hasn’t been playing well since he came back from his mess with all the whores. Now there’s a story coming out of London that one of his mistresses had a love child, a girl, and that eventually Tiger Woods is going to have to allegedly accept the fact that it’s his girl and he knows it. There’s nothing like the timing on that story right before he plays in another major, right?
I think the World Cup’s been awesome and it’s only getting better every day. Brazil barely won, but they did win. Then you had that game with Portugal and the Ivory Coast that had no scores but it was awesome. Ranaldo hit the post on one of his blasts and it was just a great game.
There’re 15 inner-league baseball games on the schedule for today. Plus, the Strike Force L.A. MMA event tonight that they’re squeezing in on a Wednesday night in Los Angeles because the Ultimate Fighter is this Saturday night so that will make for an interesting evening on the air. We’ll see you tonight at 8PM East (5PM West) on Howard 101.
