Nothing Gets Ferrall Pumped More Than a Great Show!!
Last night’s show was kick ass! I loved the end of the show, talking about being a wussy with women. How hilarious was that? Is there anything funnier than talking about guys that bend over backwards with compliments and gifts and doing whatever women want them to do? Oh my God, how funny was that? We were just raging laughing. I love when the show’s like that. I love it when the show goes like that, I really do, it was kick-ass. I was breaking up, man. I could barely even get through the show.
How about LaMarr Woodley of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the bad-ass Steeler with 29½ sacks in his career and a Super Bowl ring to boot. How cool is he? He got a little funky with us, laughing and joking with us while we were razzing him. Here’s a guy that didn’t know jack about Ferrall and then he comes on and just gets loose with us. I love when that happens, when a guy just comes down and lets his hair hang and is real and not a stuck-up bitch and a multi-millionaire football playing athlete trying to be cool and be better than everybody. He was just down with us and it was great having him on. By the end of the interview he was listening to serious and he was pulling the Ferrall Show up on his car radio with his wife and we were making fun of him in a three-piece suit as opposed to Ferrall in a three-piece suit. I love when interviews go that way. A lot of the clients that are in his agency have been on my show, A to Z.
I also liked that interview with Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker. Here’s a guy that’s been in MMA for 25 years and now he’s running Strikeforce. He’s got deals with Showtime and CBS and just had that great Werdum upset of Fedor last Saturday night. We talked about everything in the business, all of his fighters from guys to chicks. We were talking about Fedor, Carano, Cyborg and Jake Shields, trying to find out if he’s gonna split. He also talked about who he’d like to see Werdum fight next and all the different scenarios they can play with. He was a cool guy, talked about listening to Ferrall back in the day on KNBR and being a Bay area guy. He listened to me back in the day pouring beers in the Bay and is a big ‘9er and Sharks fan and he was really happening on the show last night. I love that!
I’m getting sick and fucking tired of people trying to crucify Michael Vick, my old boy from Atlanta. I mean, I know he got just absolutely out of line with the dog fighting and flipped out and it was really uncool and immature and he was a real dick when it came to that scenario, but he paid the price. I mean he went to Leavenworth, he went to federal prison, he did his time and then he came back and he’s tried to be straight. He did nothing wrong in Philly, he played hard when they gave him the chance. Now they’re trying to tag him with this gun shooting at his 30th birthday party in Virginia the other night, and I think it’s total bullshit. Originally his lawyer said he left 30 minutes before the shooting occurred but now they have video proving he was leaving the bar three minutes before the shooting. Any way you slice it, he was not in that bar when the shooting occurred so you cannot pin that shooting on Michael Vick and people are still trying to crucify him. What do they fucking want? They want him to go back to jail because some asshole shoots a gun at a party that he’s at, his own birthday party? Now, they’re trying to tag him with being in cahoots or being around bad people. They’re trying to pull up that Roger Goodell stuff, that like he’s not allowed to be around anybody that’s shifty or shady. I mean this is ridiculous. The guy did not shoot anybody and he was gone before it happened. You can’t be in two places at one time. The video proved it. He would get shit if he was there, but he left at 2:00 and it happened at 2:07. Who gives a shit? He didn’t shoot him. He wasn’t the one with the gun. He wasn’t in the building when it happened. Who cares if he left one minute after it happened or before? I mean it’s ridiculous. I mean, back the fuck off. The guy didn’t do it. You’re not gonna convict a guy for a shooting that occurred when he wasn’t even in the building. He was driving down the road. Don’t people have anything better to do than go after this guy again and try to crucify him? Get a fucking life!
I think Wimbledon is only better when guys like Federer finally lose. Tennis is boring if all they ever have is the same two guys, or the same guy winning the grand slams every single year. Federer’s won it six times; you can’t win it every year. Tomas Berdych of Czechoslovakia beat his ass on Wednesday and that’s that. He’ll meet Djokovic in the semi and Nadal is in. I love it when the bigs like Venus and Federer lose. It makes tennis better when guys come up and make stunning upsets happen. It’s better for the sport. You can’t always have the same people winning all the time.
The free agency window is finally open. I got off the air at midnight and at 12:01 NBA and NHL teams were wheeling and dealing with all the free agents trying to woo them to their club with max offers. Tonight on the Ferrall Show at 8PM East (5PM West) we’ll be on with all the happenings and all the secret side deals that went down in basketball and hockey. There’ll be tons of baseball, 11 games tonight. We’ll get fired up for UFC 116, Lesner versus Carwin (Don’t forget to go to Hurley’s if you are in NYC and looking to watch that title match!!
